Good morning. This is Dr. Joe Cincotta. In the late 1970's medicine encountered a new and aggressive foe…one that came to be known as AID's or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Although its" initial destructive power was most prevalent in one segment of the population, it has proven to be an adversary that has no bounds, no focus, no respect for any of our differences or our similarities. It has invaded every nation, every segment of our society, every age and is threatening the future of entire countries. Much progress has been made to combat and to defeat this menace. It is a fight whose success depends on our common focus and energies and not on our differences such as nationality, age or gender preference. We must recognize our success in winning this battle lies in united, shared and objective approaches to prevention, treatment and cure. We can defeat AIDs together. Thank you.
