Kite flying is important to your health…go fly a kite!
Good morning. This is Dr. Joe Cincotta. Did you know that one of the designations for April is that it is ‘kite-flying month’? And, you ask, how is this important to my health? Well, I think it is important because it is one way to relax – and that is vital to our health, as we have discussed before - and, what better way to spend some relaxing time than simply flying a kite? You can do it alone or with your family or friends. It is not expensive. It gets you out of the house and into the fresh air. You will do some walking, and even maybe a little jogging. You probably also will do some laughing at some of the misadventures you experience in this effort. It is pure joy to see that kite flying high in the sky and marvel at its simplicity and beauty. That is where the relaxing comes in. Who among us would pass up the opportunity to spend time with a family member or a friend pursuing the fun of kite-flying? So, this month, if someone tells you to go fly a kite, take them up on it. And, be mindful of your health this week. Thank you.
